Welcome to the Media Center
It has been an exciting school year working with Mustang parents and students. Overdue books should be returned prior to conferences, which will be at the end of January. If you have any questions about student reading, checkout, over due and lost books please feel free to contact us.
This winter the Media Center will be offering and supporting classes on literature genre, cyber safety, MHLL Awards, /http://www.maudhartlovelace.org/, author studies, Destination Media, and Readin for Life. Students are actively checking out. We appreciate your help and support in encouraging your student[s] to turn in or renew their books every two weeks. Students can check out several books for pleasure reading and to support classowork.
We received five Equity grants from District 622. The funding will support purchases of new Media Center books to enhance reading in 7th and 8th grade Enrichment and High Potential classes including Cultural PRIDE: Peace Studies and Reading in Color. Additional resources will be purchased to support bilingual language and reference materials, AV student documentation equipment and high interest/leveled print and audio reading materials.
We have started our Media Center Assistant program. Destination Media supports students in sharing some of their time during study hall to work in the Media Center.
Please help your student[s] to care for the books they checkout, while in their use and to return books in a timely fashion. Reading for Life...birds sing, because they can. Help your students develop a life long love for reading and learning. Contact Char, 748.6694. |
